(1) Kunsttransport von München nach Hamburg
Art Transport From Munich to Hamburg

English translation below

At 9:00 a.m., I'm picking up my rental car; the big question for me is whether my five Neon Picture Objects will fit inside. I knew an estate car would be too small, but the idea of driving a large van to Hamburg didn't exactly thrill me. So, I booked a Ford Touran - a 9-seater with foldable seats - and am hoping for the best. As it turns out, the seats don't actually fold down, but the larger artworks fit perfectly in the spaces between them.

Something that had never happened to me before: I couldn't get the car started, so a staff member explained the controls: the automatic gear selector is a small lever behind the steering wheel, the parking brake is a separate switch, and instead of a key, you have to press a start button while also engaging the foot brake - all in a specific sequence. Once I got moving, a beeping sound started after five minutes, accompanied by a notification suggesting that the driver was tired and should take a break. This continued intermittently for an hour until the alert finally disappeared. Apparently, I'm expected to keep my hands on the steering wheel - as if I were driving hands-free on the motorway! And then, the persistent alert and beeping returned, insisting that the driver take a break. Oh, the joys of modern technology!
