Die Zeit bis zur MIPIM war ässerst knapp, sodass ich zur Bedingung machte, dass sowohl der Vertrag als auch die Anzahlung auf meinem Konto bis zum Datum... geleistet sein müssen, da ich ansonsten absagen muss, da ich eine termingerechte Durchführung nicht garantieren kann: Die Produktion des Materials lässt sich eben nicht an 1 Tag bewältigen. Meine Stahlbrücken-Skizze wurde zwischenzeitlich, um Zeit zu sparen, erstellt. Die Kosten von 3.000 DM gingen zu Lasten des Auftraggebers, copyright bei mir. Da der Vertragstermin und Anzahlung nicht eingehalten wurden, sagte ich ab. Dies war mein Glück, denn es gab Schwierigkeiten mit den "Franzosen", sodass überhaupt nix stattfand, erfuhr ich später von dr Werbeagentur.

My dear friend Irmi still remembers this episode from my artist life: A week before Christmas 2000 I received an inquiry from an advertising agency for a steel bridge with a 7 m span for MIPIM (the worldwide largest real estate fair in Cannes). I should submit the offer in 14 days, when the companies are closed at this time! Nevertheless, I managed to find out that there are more steel construction companies that can produce something like this when the load-bearing parts are reduced to 5 cm in diameter. I would have had the finished steel bridge built in my large studio in Altheimer Eck (in the heart of Munich) and equipped with a neon installation. I clarified beforehand with my landlady that the studio floor can withstand the weight. The neon light was supposed to accompany a ballet group moving up / down the bridge in an animation combined with music.

The time until the MIPIM was extremely short, so I made it a condition that both the contract and the deposit have to be paid on my account by the date ..., otherwise I have to cancel because I cannot guarantee that it will be carried out on time: The production of the material cannot be done in 1 day. In the meantime, my steel bridge sketch was created to save time. The cost of 3,000 DM was borne by the client, copyright with me. Since the contract date and the deposit were not met, I canceled. This was my luck, because there were difficulties with the "French", so that nothing happened at all, I found out later from the advertising agency.
