Die Freude ist gross, dass AMMA, eine indische Heilige, die den Friedensnobelpreis erhielt und über 40 Millionen Menschen umarmte, nach der Pandemie nun nach 6 Jahren auf ihrer Europa-Tour vom 7. - 9. November nach München kommt. Wie bei ihren früheren Besuchen freue ich mich schon auf den Aufbautag und bin gespannt, da die Veranstaltung anstatt wie früher in der Münchner Zenith-Halle nun erstmalig in den Eisbach-Studios stattfindet. Alle Helfer sind ehrenamtlich tätig, ich meldete mich wie früher für den Lichtaufbau. Doch nach 6 Jahren und einer neuen Halle hat sich vieles verändert, sodass ich nicht mehr nach Schaltplan die Scheinwerfer selbständig montiere und verkabele sondern nur einfache Hilfsarbeiten machen kann. Zur Überraschung aller Helfer kommt AMMA gegen 18 Uhr an und begrüsst uns. Und wir erhalten Prasad: Eine gesegnete Speise, die zuerst einer Gottheit angeboten und danach als Geschenk und Segen gegessen wird.

The joy is immense that AMMA, an Indian saint who received the Nobel Peace Prize and embraced over 40 million people, is coming to Munich from November 7th to 9th on her European tour after the pandemic, following a six-year hiatus. As with her previous visits, I'm already looking forward to the setup day and am curious, as the event is taking place for the first time in the Eisbach Studios instead of Munich's Zenith Hall. All the helpers are volunteers, and I signed up for the lighting setup, as I have in the past. However, after six years and a new venue, much has changed, so I can no longer assemble and wire the spotlights myself according to the wiring diagram, but can only do simple assistance tasks. To the surprise of all the helpers, AMMA arrives around 6 p.m. and greets us. And we receive Prasad: a blessed food that is first offered to a deity and then eaten as a gift and blessing.
